Ripley Power and Light provides electricity to about 6,000 residential customers in Ripley, Halls, Henning and Gates.

New Residential Customers

In most instances, we can turn on your utilities the same day you request them. Just drop by one of our offices. You will be asked for a deposit of at least $200. For customers in good standing, we will refund your deposit when you move or apply your deposit to your last utility bill. To apply for service, you can download the attached Customer Service Application in pdf format, print and fill out ahead of time, before bringing it to one of our offices. Download application. Moving?

If you are moving away or transferring utility services to another location within our system, give us advance notice of your move. We charge $20 to transfer electric services. You also must have at least a $200 deposit with us.

Building a new home or business?

Call us before you start. We will help you get your electricity in a timely manner. We also offer help in building an energy-efficient home or business that can save you hundreds of dollars each year on your utility bills.

Financing Program

Our low-interest financing program makes it easier for our customers to buy energy-efficient electric equipment, such as heat pumps. Payments are on your monthly electric bill. Information on our financing program.

Security Lights

A security light leased from Ripley Power and Light Company adds that extra light to your yard and property to give you added security and allow you to enjoy the outdoors after dark. Details about security lights.

Surge Alert Program

Ripley Power and Light's surge protection program allows customers to lease whole house protection and buy equipment that protects more sensitive electronic equipment. Details about surge protection.
